Android 10/ EMUI 10 update for Huawei Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro, Mate 20 RS Porsche Design, Mate 20 X: Release Date

It’s just last week, Huawei released the much-awaited EMUI 9.1 update to its first batch of devices which includes the Huawei Mate 20 series smartphones. Soon after upgrading to EMUI 9.1, many of these Mate 20 series users might be wondering whether their device will get the latest Android 10 / EMUI 10 update or not? Well, for all those users, this article will provide you all the answers.

All the Huawei and Honor phones run on the company’s custom skin called “Emotion UI” based on Android. The EMUI 10 is the next major version of EMUI skin which is said to be based on Android Q / Android 10.

Huawei users will be happy to hear that the Chinese telecom tech has officially confirmed the list of devices eligible to get the Android 10 / EMUI 10 update. The list reads the Huawei Mate 20 series which includes the devices namely Huawei Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro, Mate 20 RS Porsche Design, Mate 20 X, and Mate 20 X (5G).

The Android 10 announcement comes via a Huawei Answers page on its website, clarifying the update situation for its wares after the U.S. government included Huawei in its “Entity List”. However, last week Donald Trump lifts the ban on Huawei and gave a positive signal to all the US tech companies to continue the business activities with Huawei.

Apart from the Huawei Mate 20 series, Huawei also confirmed the Android 10 update for 12 other company smartphones including the P30 Pro, P30, P30 Lite, P Smart 2019, P Smart+ 2019, P Smart Z, P20, P20 Pro, Mate 10 Pro, Mate 10 Porsche Design, Mate 10, Mate 20 Lite.

Currently, there’s no official confirmation when the Android 10-based EMUI 10 update will be rolling out to these Huawei smartphones. But, one can expect immediately after Google releases the update for its Pixel lineup of smartphones.

To remind you, Google already rolled out Android Q beta update to selective Huawei Mate 20 Pro devices. The motive of Android Q beta update for Mate 20 Pro is to adapt third-party apps to the Android Q system and provide users with the smooth third-party app experience. Thus, Huawei recruits all the developers across the globe to work on Android 10 for the Mate 20 Pro.
