Android 10 for Honor phones: Release Date, Eligible Devices, Features

Google officially announced that the tenth iteration of the Android operating system i.e. Android Q is simply named as Android 10. With this announcement, Google finally broke the trend of naming its Android operating system based on desserts or tasty treats. Android being a global OS, Google wanted to keep its version names simple and clear relatable for everyone in the world. Thus, the Android Q is just rebranded as Android 10. As we all know, Huawei and Honor phones run on its custom UI skin based on Android. The company also announced its tenth iteration of the EMUI version called the EMUI 10 which is based on Android 10. Moreover, the Chinese smartphone giant also confirmed the list of Honor getting the Android 10-based EMUI 10/Magic UI 3.0 update. Currently, there are only 9 phones in the list while you see more devices being added in the coming days.

Honor Android 10 Update: Release Date

While the Pixel smartphones are confirmed to get the stable Android 10 update starting from early-September, Huawei and its sub-brand Honor still have to reveal the timeframe. However, Honor has officially confirmed that the Android 10 beta will be available to download by September-end. HONOR 20, HONOR 20 PRO, HONOR V20 and HONOR Magic 2 is the first to get Google’s latest OS update.

1. App icons: EMUI 10 brings a big revolution to app icons – they are now rounder ad more animated.

2. Dark Mode: As the EMUI 10 is based on Android Q, it also brings the system-wide Dark Mode. The new dark mode will also be able to extend to third party apps which are a welcome addition for those who prefer darker menus. This feature reduces strain on your eyes while operating the device in lowlight conditions and saves battery.
