Back in May this year, the Huawei Mate 10 Lite users in Pakistan reportedly started receiving an Android 8.0 Oreo based EMUI 8.0 update via OTA. Till that time, the Oreo update news for this device doesn’t surfaced anywhere in the web. Today, a Huawei blog has officially confirmed that the Android 8.0 Oreo based EMUI 8.0 update is rolling out to Huawei Mate 10 Lite in Germany. In fact, the Mate 10 Lite isn’t the only device receiving the new OS, the Huawei P10 Lite is also receiving the same OS update.
If you live in Germany, you should be able to download official, stable Oreo goodies over-the-air [OTA] for your Huawei P10 Lite and Mate 10 Lite. The update is quite massive in size measuring up to 2.5GB for non-beta testers, as they combine EMUI 8.0 features and enhancements that make your device more intuitive, faster and safer. The Android Oreo update for Huawei P10 Lite brings the build number WAS-LX1A 8.0.0.362 (C432) and for Huawei Mate 10 Lite RNE-L01 8.0.0.330 (C432). Currently, the update is rolled out via OTA in a phase-wise manner, so it might take up to a week to appear on your device notification bar. Users can also manually check for updates from the path Settings > About Phone > System updates. Although the firmware update via OTA doesn’t affect phone data, we advise you to back all your data to be on safer side. Also, use high-speed internet connection say WiFi or 4G connectivity for faster downloading the OTA package.
