Android Pie based EMUI 9.0 Update is available for Honor 8X, Nova 3i and Mate 20 Lite as v9.0.1.59 [Beta version]

Huawei starts upgrading three of its smartphones to latest Android 9.0 Pie based EMUI 9.0 beta firmware. All the three devices namely Honor 8X, Nova 3i and Mate 20 Lite gets the new Android Pie update with version 9.0.1.59 in China.

However, the new update is rolling out to users who have applied and got selected for Huawei Android Pie beta program. In case, if you have not applied to beta program, then you’re not eligible for the Pie update and have to wait for the stable release.

Huawei Nova 3i price details

Huawei also states that the Honor 8X, Nova 3i and Huawei Mate 20 Lite devices should be on software version 8.2.0.142 in order to eligible for the OTA update. This Chinese smartphone giant also adds the device should not be rooted and there should be atleast 6GB of free internal storage to download and install the firmware. If not, you might be in a risk of upgrade failure.

As the latest Android Pie based EMUI 9.0.1.59 is still in beta form, users may encounter bugs and issues after flashing on their respective devices. So, it is advisable to perform back up before starting the update procedure.

Android 9.0 Pie is Google’s ninth iteration of mobile operating system bringing several new features including gesture-based navigation, New Quick Settings UI design, Redesigned volume slider, Advanced Battery with AI Support and more.
