Alongside the Honor 20 series, Huawei also started recruiting Huawei Mate 20 series smartphones for Android 10-based EMUI 10 beta update. The beta program is currently live in China while it will slowly expand to other global countries in the coming days. Huawei Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro was announced back in October last year running on Android 9.0 Pie-based EMUI 9.0 OS. Later in July this year, the Chinese telecom giant released EMUI 9.1 update for these devices. The update brought improved performance, new wallpapers, GPU Turbo 3.0, new EROFS file system, AR Measure, and more.
Although the EMUI 10 beta update is happening now, the stable EMUI 10 update for Mate 30 series will happen only in December 2019. The new EMUI 10 comes with a bunch of new features. The interface seems to be more refined with changes in design elements as well as a new font. There is also a dark mode which should work best with OLED display equipped phones. 1. Download & install the Huawei’s Friendly User Test app.
2. Launch the app and agree on the terms & conditions.
3. Log in with your Huawei ID.
4. Join the beta program by navigating to personal from the bottom tabs. Now you need to select Join Project > Available project. Here you will see the EMUI 10 beta campaign. Simply click on Sign up and you’re done!
5. If selected for beta update, you will soon see an OTA update notification on your screen.
