Good news for Huawei Mate 20 series smartphone users in Europe! The Chinese telecom tech has started rolling out the stable Android 10-based EMUI 10 update for Huawei Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro, and Mate 20 X (4G) models in the European region. Not only Huawei Mate 20 series, but the P30 series models also receiving the major EMUI upgrade. Also, EMUI 10 update for Huawei P30/P30 Pro devices happened first in China last week.
Reportedly, the Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro (LYA-L29, HMA-L29) users on the latest EMUI 9.1 build gets the new version EMUI 10.0.0.154(C432E7R1P5). On the other hand, the Mate 20 X (EVR-L29) EMUI 10 update bumps the firmware version to 10.0.0.180. Those on EMUI 10 beta ROM will also get the same version as mentioned above.
As usual, the update is happening via OTA in a phase-wise manner. It might take a couple of days to appear on each and every smartphone. If you’re impatient, then one can manually request the update via the HiCare app. Alternatively, users can also check it from Settings > System > Software update > Check for updates.
The update size is about 4.5GB. We advise you to use Wi-Fi connectivity for downloading the firmware package as mobile data could be expensive. Also, perform a backup of all your data before starting the upgrade process. This will help you to restore data if any mishap occurs.
