It’s just last week Huawei released the Android 10-based EMUI 10 beta update to Huawei P30 and P30 Pro. Now, the company adds 8 more Huawei and Honor devices to the EMUI 10/MagicUI 3.0 Beta program. It includes the devices namely Huawei Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro, Huawei Mate 20 RS, Mate 20 X, Honor 20, Honor 20 Pro, Honor V20, and Honor Magic 2.
The firmware for these Honor devices will bring the MagicUI 3.0 skin while the Huawei phones will get the EMUI 10 update. Currently, the EMUI 10 beta update for Huawei Mate 20 series, Honor 20 series, Honor V20, and Magic 2 is available for China region only, but soon be announced for other global regions as well. Like, EMUI 10/Android 10 beta update is already available to Europe and India regions after it was announced for China last week.
The recruitment already started from September 20th and will last till September 24th. As usual, there are only limited slots for the beta testers. Huawei is currently recruiting only 2000 testers (500 users in the first batch and 1500 in the second batch). Interested users need to apply for the update through the Beta app.
How to download and install EMUI 10 beta update
To be eligible for the EMUI 10 beta, the devices should be running on the latest firmware. Huawei Mate 20 variants should have at least EMUI 9.1.0.135 version while the Honor 20/20 Pro must have the version EMUI 9.1.0.152 pre-installed.
As for the Honor V20 and Magic 2, versions 9.1.0.233/234 and 9.1.0.222/225/226, respectively, will be required before being enrolled into the new Android 10 beta program.
According to Huawei Android 10 roadmap, the Huawei Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro, Huawei Mate 20 RS, Mate 20 X, Honor 20, Honor 20 Pro, Honor V20, and Honor Magic 2 will get the stable Android 10-based EMUI 10 update in December 2019. This will be followed by the Mate 10, Honor 20 series and P30 Lite in March 2020. Currently, the Huawei Mate 30 series are the only smartphones to come with Android 10 out-of-the-box.
