Huawei and its sub-brand Honor already announced the list of its devices eligible to get the latest EMUI 9.1 update back in April itself. There were 49 Huawei and Honor devices in the list without any specific timeline for the update. Today, the Chinese telecom tech has officially announced the release date of EMUI 9.1 update. The EMUI 9.1 update is still based on Android 9 Pie.
Huawei itself shared a poster in Reddit where it has the EMUI 9.1 update roadmap for its devices. First up is the Mate 20 series which is scheduled to get the update in June (mostly from June 27) followed by the P20, Mate 10, and Mate 9 series smartphones in July. At last but not least, the Huawei P10 and P10 Plus models will get the EMUI 9.1 in August.
It will be a regular OTA update and will gradually roll out to all the regions of the world. One can take the help of HiCare app to request the latest EMUI 9.1 update once the company starts rolling out via OTA.
