EMUI 9.1 is available to download for Huawei Mate 9, Mate 9 Pro and Mate 9 Porsche Design

EMUI 10 is already official at the Huawei Developer Conference 2019 event earlier this month. The company also announced the list of Huawei & Honor phones to get EMUI 10 update and the Huawei P30 / P30 Pro are the first to get the EMUI 10 beta update starting from September 8. It’s just three weeks for EMUI 10 rollout, but before that Huawei wants to ensure all of its eligible devices have been upgraded to EMUI 9.1. Regarding the same, the company has started rolling out the EMUI 9.1 update for Huawei Mate 9, Mate 9 Pro, and Mate 9 Porsche Design.

Huawei Mate 9 series users will really love this update as the devices are all-most three years old from now and might have lost hopes for further major EMUI upgrades. Moreover, the EMUI 9.1 will be the final update for the Huawei Mate 9, Mate 9 Pro, and Mate 9 Porsche Design smartphones.

Alongside the Huawei Mate 9 series devices, the Chinese smartphone giant is rolling out the EMUI 9.1 update for 5 more devices. This includes the Huawei P10, P10 Plus, Nova 2s, Honor V9, and Honor 9. Although the EMUI 9.1 update has already been going out to some of these in some territories, now we have a wide rollout.

EMUI 9.1 update for the above devices is happening only for the Chinese regions. If you bought any of the above models in another market, then you need to wait for the latest software to make it to your device.

EMUI 9.1 is stuffed with several new features and performance improvements, but the EROFS (Super File System) and GPU Turbo 3.0 are the most striking ones. The EROFS file system greatly improves the read and write performance of the flash memory by approx. 20%. It also acts helps in file compression, saving up to 2GB of space on your phone. On the other hand, the GPU Turbo 3.0 cuts down on SoC power consumption by 10% and optimizes “the underlying system performance to provide a continuous gaming experience.” Furthermore, the number of Android games to utilize this latest GPU Turbo feature has been increased from 6 to 25. Fortnite, Knives Out, Crazy Taxi, Real Racing 3, Into the Dead 2, NBA 2K19, Subway Surfers, FIFA Mobile, and more are the newly added to the list of GPU Turbo 3.0 supported games.
