Honor 10, Honor Play, Honor View 10 Android 9.0 Pie-based EMUI 9.0 Update rolling out in India

Huawei’s sub-brand Honor has started upgrading three of its smartphones i.e. the Honor 10, Honor Play and Honor View 10 to Android 9.0 Pie based EMUI 9.0 in India as promised. The EMUI 9 made its first appearance at the IFA 2018 last year and since the company has started rolling out this major update to its latest flagship devices followed by mid-rangers. Currently, the update is specific to India but might soon reach to other global countries in the coming days.

The latest EMUI 9.0 update for Honor 10, Honor Play, and Honor View 10 bring gestures-based navigation features and a new UI (user-interface). GPU Turbo 2.0 is another cool feature introduced to this update bringing on-demand performance boost thereby reducing power consumption when using power-intensive applications. Honor also claims that the EMUI 9 update will also boost system operations up to 12.9% to all these devices.

It also brings a new Password Vault feature which helps to store their encrypted password with face or fingerprint for various services. Huawei also introduced uninterrupted Gaming Mode for mobile gamers.

Moreover, the EMUI 9.0 brings Digital Balance dashboard allowing users to track device usage metrics and let them set the usage quota for each app. The HiVision visual search, Wireless Sharing, Translation, AI Shopping, Wireless Printing (Huawei Share), and more are the other features bundled with the update.

The EMUI 9.0 update is currently rolling out via OTA (over-the-air) in batches. So, it might take some time to reach everyone. Users of Honor 10, Honor Play, and Honor View 10 can also manually check for updates from the path Settings > Updates > check for the latest update > download and install. If available, we recommend updating your device under stable Wi-Fi connection as the firmware size is said to be around 4GB.
