EMUI 9.1 is the latest custom skin for Huawei and Honor smartphones. It is still based on Android 9 Pie OS with minor UI changes over the EMUI 9.0 ROM. The EMUI 9.1 update is already started rolling out to various company’s devices. Honor 10 Youth Edition and Honor 7X are the latest devices to get the EMUI 9.1 support. However, it is still a beta build while the stable update will be happening anytime soon.
The latest EMUI 9.1 beta update for Honor 10 Youth Edition brings the version 188.8.131.52 and is limited to China region only. On the other hand, the Honor 7X is receiving EMUI beta versions 184.108.40.206 (C675E1R1P1log) with worldwide availability. Check the Hicare app for the latest software updates.
Huawei and its sub-brand Honor have gained a lot of reputation for rolling out the latest software updates to its devices. To justify this, let’s take the example of Honor 7X. Released back in 2017, it is a mid-range device powered by Huawei’s own HiSilicon Kirin 659 processor. It came with Android 7.1 Nougat out-of-the-box. Being a low-to-mid tier phone, Huawei rolled out Android 8.0 Oreo-based EMUI 8.0 update. Now, it has started recruiting Honor 7X users for Android Pie/EMUI 9.0 beta update.
Although there is no timeline for the stable rollout, it could be the July 2019 as this is the month for which Huawei has scheduled EMUI 9.1 stable release for most of its devices.
Stay tuned as we’ll update once the Android Pie-based EMUI 9.1 update starts rolling out to Honor 10 Youth Edition and Honor 7X.
