Honor 20 and Honor 20 Pro with quad rear cameras, Kirin 980 SoC announced: Price, Specifications

Honor just announced two new flagship smartphones – the Honor 20 and Honor 20 Pro at a special event in London, as it had promised. Just like the Huawei P30 series, the Honor 20 series devices also come with great camera abilities. Moreover, the main camera of the Honor 20 Pro comes with the brightest aperture on a phone ever. The Huawei’s flagship Kirin 980 processor, quad rear cameras, and side-mounted fingerprint sensor are the highlights of the Honor 20 and Honor 20 Pro smartphones.

Honor 20 Pro Specifications:

Starting from the display, the Honor 20 Pro sports a 6.26-inch Full-HD+ display with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels at 442 pixels per inch. It has a 3D curved glass display with 91.7 percent screen-to-body ratio. It is powered by Huawei’s latest Kirin 980 processor with Dual NPU and GPU Turbo 3.0. The Honor 20 Pro also has a Graphene Cooling Sheet technology for 27% better heat dissipation.

On the photography point, the Honor 20 Pro comes with the quad camera setup. This includes a 48MP Sony IMX586 main camera with the fastest aperture of any phone ever – f/1.4, a 16-megapixels ultra-wide angle sensor (up to a 117-degree field of view), and an 8-megapixels telephoto camera with 3x optical and 5x hybrid zoom (digital zoom goes up to 30x). There is also a 2-megapixels macro camera which is capable to capture photos from just 4cm away.

Following the trend, the Honor 20 Pro has a punch-hole display which carries a 32-megapixels selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture and 3D Portrait Lighting.

The device offers 8GB of RAM for multi-tasking and 256GB of internal storage. There is no microSD card slot for memory expansion. It runs on Android 9 Pie-based Magic UI 2.1 and has dual-SIM support. For security purpose, there is a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

The phone packs a 4,000mAh battery with 22.5 SuperCharge. A flat battery will hit 50% charge in 30 minutes. The connectivity options include the Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 5 LE, GPS, and USB Type-C. The Honor 20 Pro is just 8.44mm thick and weighs 182g.

Honor 20 Specifications:

Apart from the storage, battery, and cameras, the Honor 20 shares most of the specifications to that of Honor 20 Pro. Starting from cameras, the Honor 20 comes with a 48-megapixels rear camera with 1/2″ Sony IMX586 sensor, f/1.8 aperture, AIS, 16-megapixels 117-degree Ultra-Wide Angle lens, 2-megapixels f/2.4 aperture camera for 4cm macro, and a 2-megapixels f/2.4 aperture camera for depth sensing.

On the storage front, the device comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage without any option to expand further. It comes with 3750mAh battery support with 22.5W Honor SuperCharge fast charging technology. It measures 154.25 x 73.97 x 7.87mm and weighs 174g.

Price and Availability:

The HONOR 20 comes in Midnight Black, Sapphire Blue colors and Icelandic White colors, and is priced at 499 Euros (US$ 556 / Rs. 38,785 approx.). The HONOR 20 Pro comes in Phantom Black and Phantom Blue colors and is priced at 599 Euros (US$ 668 / Rs. 46,550 approx.). Both these will roll out across Europe and Asia soon.
