Huawei developers having a busy month it seems as the company has started delivering the stable EMUI 10/Magic UI 3.0 update for its eligible devices. First, it was Huawei P30 and Mate 20 series who received the stable Android 10 update just last week. Now, Huawei sub-brand Honor rolling out the stable Android 10-based Magic UI 3.0 update for Honor 20 and Honor 20 Pro globally.
Both the Honor 20 and Honor 20 Pro [YAL-AL10, YAL-L41] models have already received the Android 10 update in China. Initially, the update is rolling out in Europe, while more regions will be made eligible in the coming weeks. Alongside the Honor 20 series, the Honor View 20 is lucky one getting the same update.
The update is live via OTA (over-the-air) and takes the OS from Android Pie to Android 10. It brings the version 10.0.0.168(C431E9R3P7) and is about 4.63GB in size. Although some users reported getting the update with different build numbers.
Ensure the battery is well-charged enough and there is sufficient free space (up to 6GB) to install the new firmware. Also, download the OTA under a strong Wi-Fi connection to save your mobile data.
If you haven’t received the OTA notification yet, check manually from the path Settings > System > Software update > Check for updates. Hit the ‘Download’ button to start downloading the update package. Alternately, users can use the HiCare app to request the Android 10 update.
Coming to the features of Magic UI 3.0, it adds usual Android 10 features along with some customized features from Huawei. In the UI section, users can explore the new Magazine Design, Morandi Color Scheme, and Dynamic animations. It also brings improved GPU Turbo which is said to offer a 60 percent boost while playing games.
The Android 10 inspired update also brings the system-wide Dark Mode. With this feature, the Dark theme can also be extended to third-party apps which is a welcome addition for those who prefer darker menus. EMUI 10 also packs new capabilities relating to multi-screen collaboration. This helps phones to seamlessly communicate with other devices, including drones, smart TVs, wearables, and more.
In addition to new UI elements, EMUI 10 also brings Huawei’s Android Auto replacement – HiCar. This app is supported by over 30 automobile makers and it can work with over 120 car models right now.
