Honor officially announced a new mid-range smartphone dubbed as Honor 20 Lite. It comes slightly ahead of Honor’s big May 21 event where the company will announce its next-generation of flagship smartphones in the “Honor 20” series. The Honor 20 Lite is exactly the same smartphone which the Huawei-owned sub-brand announced in China as Honor 20i last month. A 6.21-inch FHD+ waterdrop notch display, Kirin 710 SoC, Android 9.0 Pie with EMUI 9.0 are the highlights of the Honor 20 Lite. It is also the successor of Honor 10 Lite which was introduced in November last year. However, the Honor 20 Lite mainly differs in the camera capabilities compared to its predecessor.
Honor 20 Lite – Specifications
The Honor 20 Lite that sports a 3D glass rear measures 154.8 x 73.8 x 8mm and weighs 164 grams. It sports a 6.21-inch Full HD+ (2340 x 1080 pixels) display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio and a waterdrop notch at the top. Under the hood, there is an octa-core Kirin 710 SoC coupled with ARM Mali-G51 MP4 GPU, offering 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. There is also a microSD card slot for further memory expansion up to 512GB.
Honor 20 Lite sports a rear fingerprint sensor and comes with Facial recognition feature. The smartphone runs on EMUI 9.0 based on Android 9 Pie OS and is backed up by a 3,400mAh non-removable battery. It also comes with a Game Turbo 2.0 technology for enhanced gaming experience via intelligent system resource allocation as well.
For photography, the Honor 20 Lite features triple cameras which include a 24MP primary sensor, an 8MP wide-angle sensor for a wide 120-degree view, and a 2MP depth sensor for a bokeh effect. For night photography, there’s a Super Night Mode which allows clicking of smooth images even without the use of a tripod.
For selfies and video calling purposes, the Honor 20 Lite is bundled with a 32-megapixels front-facing camera. It also comes with AI features which automatically retouches your selfies by judging your age, skin tone, and gender.
It has Hybrid dual-SIM (nano + nano/microSD) support and offers connectivity options like Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2 LE, GPS + GLONASS, micro USB.

The HONOR 20 Lite comes in Phantom Red and Phantom Blue colors, is priced at £249 (US$ 325 / Rs. 22,580 approx.) in the UK and will go on sale via Carphone Warehouse, Amazon, Argos, John Lewis, Very, and AO from May 15th.
