Honor 30S gets a new Firmware update via OTA – Details [Magic UI 3.1.1.115]

Last month, Huawei’s sub-brand Honor announced the Honor 30S, its first smartphone to be powered by the company’s latest Kirin 820 5G SoC. The smartphone is already available for purchase in China starting from 2399 Yuan (US$338). It’s hardly 15 days passed since the official debut of the Honor 30S, the device already picked-up its first software update.

You heard it right! Honor 30S started receiving a new firmware update which brings the version 3.1.1.115. An earlier version of the firmware was Magic UI 3.1.1.113.

Coming to the features, the Magic UI 3.1.1.115 is just a minor upgrade, optimizing system stability for better performance. Apart from this, there are no major changes. The update is pushed via OTA (over-the-air) in a phase-wise manner. This means it might take a couple of days to appear on each and every device.

Users can also manually check for updates through Settings > System > Software update > Check for updates > Download and Install. Alternatively, one can also take the help of the HiCare app for requesting the latest software update.

Eligible Honor 30S Models:

  • Honor 30S – CDY-AN90
  • Honor 30S – CDY-TN90

To remind you, the Honor 30S comes with a 6.5-inch FHD+ screen with a 90.3% screen-to-body ratio with a punch-hole that houses a 16-megapixel camera, comes with the 64-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, 8-megapixel 120° ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2-megapixel macro lens.

Other specifications of the device include a Kirin 820 5G SoC, 8GB RAM, 128GB/256GB internal storage (no microSD support), and Android 10 with Magic UI 3.1.1 on top. It also features a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and packs a 4000mAh battery with 40W Super-Fast Charging technology.
