Huawei Honor 6X users starts receiving Android Nougat based EMUI 5.0 update starting from today. It is a major update which the Honor 6X owners have been waiting patiently since the company promised earlier this year.
The Nougat update was being beta tested from past two months and today it has begun rolling out to the Honor 6X. As it is released via OTA, users need to wait a few days before it appear on your device notification bar. Those who cannot wait for the official OTA update which is rolled out gradually still have to wait till the firmware files are uploaded on the Huawei websites. The update will be pushed to all the Honor 6X users worldwide, with all the devices scheduled to be running Nougat by mid to late May.
With this, users can enjoy Nougat features like multi-window support, better notifications, instant replies, an enhanced UI and all other features that are included with EMUI 5.0. Not only this, the new UI of the Honor 6X will offer a revamped task manager and an app drawer. You will also find Twin App feature along with the update which lets you log-in to two accounts for the same app at the same time on the same phone.
Honor 6X users can manually check for updates through settings > About Phone > Check for Updates. Make sure to use high-speed internet connection say Wi-Fi for downloading the firmware.
