After rolling out Android Pie-based EMUI 9.0 update to Honor 10, Honor Play, and Honor View 10 devices in India earlier this year, Huawei’s sub-brand Honor has officially confirmed that the Honor 8X will be the next device to get this major upgrade starting from March 18.
Android 9.0 Pie EMUI 9.0 will be a regular OTA update and will be rolled out in batches to all the Honor 8X devices in India. Users of this device should have a close look at the notification bar as a pop-up will appear once the Pie update is all ready to download after March 18. Alternatively, one can also manually check for updates from the path Settings > System > System Update > Check for updates.

The new EMUI 9.0 update brings SmartCare AI learning, Password Vault, HiVision Visual Search, Digital Balance dashboard, Wireless universal screen projection through Miracast, Gaming Mode, Multi-task-switching between each app, HuaweiShare, and more. There is also a GPU Turbo 2.0 feature which takes the gaming experience to the top level. The update also allows the phone to recognize which apps are safe and knows how to protect itself.
On top, the update brings several Android 9.0 Pie goodness including gesture-based navigation, New Quick Settings UI design, Redesigned volume slider, Advanced Battery with AI Support and more.
