EMUI 9.1 is Huawei’s latest custom skin based on Android 9 Pie. The company already confirmed a list of 49 Huawei and Honor smartphones being upgraded to EMUI 9.1 OS. Until yesterday, there was no timeline for the release of this update to Honor smartphones. Now, the Honor has officially revealed the release date and luckily the Honor 8X is promised to get the EMUI 9.1 update in August this year.
Honor 8X was already in the list of the second batch of Honor and Huawei devices eligible to EMUI 9.1 update. It seems the company is in the final stage of testing the OS and thus announce a confirmed release date for EMUI 9.1 update.
Alongside the Honor 8X, there are seven other Honor devices confirm to get the latest EMUI 9.1 update. This includes the Honor 7X, View 10, 10 Lite, 20 Lite, Play, Honor 10, Honor 8 Pro. All these devices are scheduled to get the EMUI 9.1 update in August 2019.
Recently, the Huawei Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro, Mate 20 X, and Mate 20 RS Porsche Design have started receiving the EMUI 9.1 update. The update pops-up the EMUI version to 188.8.131.520 and brings key features like Moon mode photography, GPU Turbo 3.0, and a new EROFS file system. Moreover, users can also set up video ringtones for specific contacts. The update is already available to download to various regions including Dubai, UK, Bulgaria, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, and more.
