Huawei’s sub-brand Honor launched a new mid-range smartphone dubbed as Honor 8X at an event in New Delhi, India today. It is the successor of Honor 7X, which is one of the company’s best-selling smartphone for 2018. The Honor 8X was first introduced in China back in September and now, finally makes its way in Indian market today. A Dual rear camera setup, premium glass-finish back, and a display notch are the highlights of the Honor 8X. It also supports company’s latest GPU Turbo technology which boost the performance of the device as well as reduces battery consumption.
Honor 8X specifications and features
The dual-SIM Honor 8X comes with a 6.5-inch Full HD+ (1080 x 2340 pixels) display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and pixel density of 397ppi. There is a notch on top of the screen and 91 percent screen to body ratio. On comparison, the Honor 8X has a similar display design to that of Honor Play and Honor 9N.
In terms of hardware, the device is powered by its own Kirin 710 octa-core SoC coupled with ARM Mali-G51 MP4 GPU and 4GB/6GB of RAM.
The Honor 8X comes in two storage variants – 64GB and 128GB, there is also a microSD card slot for further memory expansion up to 400GB. It runs Android 8.1 Oreo based EMUI 8.2.
On the camera department, the device is equipped with a 20MP rear camera with LED flash, f/1.8 aperture, and a 2MP secondary camera with 480 fps slow-motion recording. There is also a 16MP front-facing camera.
Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2.4GHz and 5GHz), Bluetooth v4.2 LE with aptX support, GPS/ A-GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, a micro-USB port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. A 3,750mAh battery provides power to the device.

The Honor 8X comes in Black and Blue colors, is priced at Rs. 14999 for the 4GB RAM with 64GB storage version, 6GB RAM with 64GB storage version costs Rs. 16999 and the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage version costs Rs. 18999 and will go on sale exclusively on Amazon.in starting from October 24th.
