Huawei’s sub-brand Honor has gained a huge reputation in recent times by rolling out regular Android updates to its devices. Honor not only upgraded its flagship smartphone, the Honor View 20 to latest software but also released the Android Pie goodness to latest Honor Play and Honor 8X devices. Apart from these, the Chinese smartphone giant also rolled out beta Android Pie-based EMUI 9.0 update to older devices including the Honor 8 Pro and Honor 7X. Now, the EMUI 9 beta program goes live for two more affordable Honor devices – namely Honor 9N and Honor 9 Lite.
Interested Honor 9N and Honor 9 Lite users can manually apply for EMUI 9 beta program through downloading Huawei’s Beta tester app. Once the app is successfully installed, users need to log in with HiCloud ID. Under the “Personal” tab, you need to tap on “Join Project” and then select “Available projects”. Here you will see the list of eligible projects for Honor 9N or Honor 9. Simply, select the EMUI 9.0 beta program and enter the necessary credentials. That’s it! You will receive HOTA upgrade notification automatically, then you can select to update your phone.

In case, if you face any problems during beta testing, go to “Report” page, and select relevant module which your problem related with, then input all necessary information and submit. This Android 9.0 Pie-based EMUI 9.0 beta update is mainly released to weed out bugs and issues if any and make it stable enough.
Both the Honor 9N and Honor 9 Lite runs on Android 8.0 Oreo with EMUI 8.0 on top. It also has several features in common including a Kirin 659 SoC, 13MP + 2MP Rear camera, 3GB/4GB RAM, 32GB/64GB internal storage, 3000mAh battery, and fingerprint sensor on the rear panel. The major difference is only the display where the Honor 9 Lite comes with 5.65-inch FHD+ 18:9 2.5D curved glass display compared to Honor 9N 5.84-inch FHD+ 19:9 curved glass notched display.
