Honor 9X, Honor 9X Pro launched with Kirin 810 and pop-up cameras: Price, Specifications

Honor on Tuesday announced two new smartphones in China – the Honor 9X and Honor 9X Pro. These are the successor of the last year Honor 8X with improvements over design and hardware. Bezel-less displays and pop-up selfie cameras are the biggest highlights of the Honor’s latest mid-range smartphones. Initially, the Honor 9X and 9X Pro are launched for the Chinese market, with global announcements is expected in the coming days.

Honor 9X, Honor 9X Pro – Specifications

Both the Honor 9X and Honor 9X Pro have similar kind of specs and features. The only difference between the two handsets is the storage option and the rear camera features. Starting from the display, the Honor 9X and 9X Pro flaunt a 6.59-inch LCD displays at Full-HD+ resolution. The bezels are extremely slim so as to offer a high screen ratio.

Under the hood, the Honor 9X and Honor 9X Pro are kitted with the latest chipset from Huawei, the 7nm Kirin 810 SoC. It consists of an Octa-core CPU and the Mali G52 GPU. The Honor 9X comes with up to 6GB of RAM while the 9X Pro gets up to 8GB of RAM. Both phones ship with Android Pie-based EMUI 9.1. The Pro model also comes with the liquid cooling feature to keep thermal levels at low.

In terms of photography, the Honor 9X sports a dual-camera with a 48MP main sensor and a 2MP sub-sensor. At the same time, the Honor 9X Pro is packed with a triple-camera of 48MP + 8MP super-wide-angle lens + 2MP CMOS. There is also a pop-up selfie camera with a 16MP sensor and f/2.2 aperture.

The Honor 9X comes in 64GB / 128GB storage options while the 9X Pro has 128GB / 256GB options with a microSD support for further memory expansion up to 512GB. Both the devices have dual-SIM support, side-mounted fingerprint sensor, USB-Type C port, and a 4000mAh battery support.

Price and Availability:

The Honor 9X is up for pre-order from today in China ahead of its release on July 30, while the 9X Pro pre-orders start July 30 before a release August 9. The phones’ prices in China are as follows:

  • Honor 9X (4GB+64GB) 1399 Yuan (US$203 / Rs. 14,175 approx.)
  • Honor 9X (6GB+64GB) 1599 Yuan (US$232 / Rs. 16,020 approx.)
  • Honor 9X (6GB+128GB) 1899 Yuan (US$276 / Rs. 19,025 approx.)
  • Honor 9X Pro (8GB+128GB) 2199 Yuan (US$320 / Rs. 22,035 approx.)
  • Honor 9X Pro (8GB+256GB) 2399 Yuan (US$349 / Rs. 24,040 approx.)

Coming to color options, the Honor 9X comes in Midnight Black, Blue, and Red colors while the 9X Pro is offered in Midnight Black and Phantom Blue colors.
