Huawei sub-brand Honor expanded its smartphone lineup with the announcement of two new devices – the Honor Play 4T Pro and Honor Play 4T. Both smartphones come with impressive hardware and beautiful design mainly targeting younger customers. Most importantly, these devices are also budget-friendly with pricing starting at 1199 Yuan ($168).
Honor Play 4T Pro is equipped with a waterdrop-style notch while the Honor Play 4T has a hole-punch display. Both models carry a 4000mAh battery, 48MP main camera, and ample (and expandable) storage.
Honor Play 4T Pro – Specifications
Honor Play 4T Pro offers a 6.3 inches full HD+ 2.5D curved glass OLED display with 2400 x 1080 pixels resolution and 20:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, there is a 2.27GHz octa-core Kirin 810 SoC coupled with ARM Mali-G52 MP6 GPU and 6GB/8GB of RAM. For storing things up, the device gives 128GB of internal storage which can be further extendable up to 256GB with microSD.
On the camera department, the Honor Play 4T Pro sports a triple rear camera setup that includes a 48-megapixel primary sensor along with an f/1.8 lens, 8-megapixel secondary sensor along with an ultra-wide-angle f/2.4 lens, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor that has an f/2.4 lens on top. For selfies, there is a 16-megapixel camera sensor at the front, with an f/2.0 lens.
The device has dual SIM support and an in-display fingerprint sensor. It is disappointing Honor shipping the device with Android 9 Pie-based Magic UI 2.1 onboard as the company already pushed the Magic UI 3.0 for most of its devices. It measures 157.4 x 73.2 x 7.75mm, weighs 165, and powered by a 4000mAh battery.
Honor Play 4T – Specifications
Coming to Honor Play 4T, it features a 6.39-inch HD+ display (1560x720pixels) with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by the Kirin 710 SoC and runs on Android 10 with Magic UI 3.1 on top.
The device has a dual rear camera that includes a 48MP main camera with an LED flash, 2MP depth camera. On the front, there is an 8-megapixels camera for selfies and video calling purposes.
The Honor Play 4T offers 6GB of RAM, 128GB internal storage, and a microSD card slot for memory expansion up to 512GB. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, and Micro-USB. Sensors onboard include an accelerometer, ambient light, magnetometer, and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.
The device packs a 4,000mAh battery with 10W charging support. It measures 159.81 x 76.13 x 8.13mm and weighs 176 grams.
Price and Availability:
The HONOR Play 4T Pro comes in Midnight Black, Emerald Blue and Iceland Blue colors, is priced at 1499 yuan (US$ 212 / Rs. 16,190 approx.) for the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage version and the 8GB RAM with 128GB storage version costs 1699 yuan (US$ 241 / Rs. 18,400 approx.). It is already available to order in China.
The Honor Play 4T comes in two different color options – Midnight Black and Emerald Blue. It has a price tag of 1199 Yuan (US$170 / Rs. 12,985 approx.) and will be available for order from April 14th.
