Huawei’s sub-brand Honor announced its latest affordable smartphone dubbed as “Honor Play 3” at the Honor 20S event in China yesterday. Honor 20S was already confirmed to launch on September 4, but the Honor Play 3 announcement was a surprising one. Both the smartphones are currently exclusive for the Chinese market, the global fans still have to wait for the announcement news.
Honor Play 3 Price and Availability:
The HONOR Play 3 comes in Black, Blue and Red colors, is priced at 999 yuan (US$ 139 / Rs. 10,060 approx.) for the 4GB RAM with 64GB storage version, and the 4GB RAM with 128GB storage and 6GB RAM with 64GB storage versions cost 1299 yuan (US$ 181/ Rs. 13,080 approx.), each. The smartphone is already up for pre-order in China, while the sale begins from September 17.
Honor Play 3 – Specifications
Honor Play 3, the company’s latest entry-level smartphone is powered by an octa-core Kirin 710F 12nm SoC coupled with ARM Mali-G51 MP4 GPU and 4GB/6GB of RAM. It runs on Android 9.0 Pie with company’s own EMUI 9.1.1 skin on top.
The device flaunts a 6.39-inch IPS LCD display with a screen resolution of 1560 x 720 pixels. The screen is guarded by an unbranded scratch-resistant aluminosilicate glass. The official numbers claim 90% screen to body ratio, in part because Honor managed to reduce the size of the punch hole by 30% to 4.5mm. It offers up to 128GB of internal storage with an option to expand further up to 512GB using a microSD. A 4000mAh battery provides power to the device. It requires only 2 hours 30 minutes to completely charge the device.
The Honor Play 3 sports a triple rear camera – a 48MP rear camera with f/1.8 aperture, 8MP Ultra-Wide Angle lens with f/2.4 aperture, 2MP lens with f/2.4 aperture for portrait shots. On the front, there is an 8MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture.
It has dual-SIM support and includes connectivity options like Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.0 LE, GPS, and MicroUSB. The dimensions of the device include 159.81 x 76.13 x 8.13mm and weigh 176g.
