Huawei sub-brand Honor announced the Honor Play 9A, a new addition to the company’s budget smartphone portfolio. The Honor Play 9A is not the only device to get official at the event as the company also announced the Honor 30S and Kirin 820 5G chipset. Both the Honor Play 9A and Honor 30S are available for pre-order in China starting from 899 Yuan ($127).
Honor Play 9A – Specifications
The Honor 9A has a 6.3-inch LCD on the front with 720+ resolution (20:9 aspect ratio), it covers 70% of the NTSC color space. It is powered by a MediaTek Helio P35 chipset (eight Cortex-A53 CPU cores + PowerVR GE8320 GPU). It’s hooked to 4GB of RAM and runs Android 10 with Magic UI 3.0.1 on top.
The Play 9A features a dual-SIM (Nano) and runs on Android 10 with Magic UI 3.0.1 on top. It has 4GB of RAM, 64GB/128GB internal storage and a MicroSD slot for further memory expansion up to 512GB.
Talking about the cameras, the dual rear camera setup includes a 13-megapixel shooter with f/1.8 aperture and a 2-megapixel depth sensor with an f/2.4 lens. On the front, you get a single 8-megapixel selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture.
The device boasts a headphone jack, Bluetooth 5.0, 2.4GHz Wi-Fi b/g/n and dual SIM support with 4G and VoLTE support. It packs a 5000mAh battery with support for 10W charging and comes with a 5V/2A charger in the box. The Honor Play 9A is just 9.04mm thick, weighs 185g, and features a fingerprint sensor on the rear panel.
Price and Availability:
HONOR Play 9A comes in Black, Blue, and Jasper Green color options. The 4GB RAM + 64GB storage version is priced at 899 yuan (US$ 127 / Rs. 9535 approx.) and the 4GB RAM + 128GB storage version is priced at 1199 yuan (US$ 169 / Rs. 12720 approx.).
There is no information on Honor Play 9A’s availability in international markets, including India.
