Huawei’s sub-brand Honor announced Honor V30 and V30 Pro, its latest flagship smartphones with 5G support in China. These are the successor of Honor V20 that was launched last year with Kirin 980 SoC. The new Honor V30 and Honor V30 Pro are powered by Kirin 990 5G SoC, becoming the first device to get 5G support from the Honor brand.
At the same event, Honor also announced the Honor MagicBook 15, Honor Magic Watch 2, Honor Flypods 2 and Honor Hunter Gaming Router for the Chinese market. However, it’s still unclear when these devices along with Honor V30/V30 Pro will be made available for the global markets. Generally, the Honor V range is usually released globally as the Honor View series.
Honor V30, Honor V30 Pro – Specifications
The dual SIM Honor V30 and V30 Pro come with a 6.57-inch (2400 x 1080 pixels) Full HD+ LCD 2.5D curved glass display with 96% NTSC color gamut. It features a double-wide hole-punch cutout similar to that of Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus. The sensors are a 32MP main selfie cam with Super Night Mode and another 8MP ultrawide angle snapper.
The main difference between the two devices is the cameras. The Honor V30 Pro comes with a 40MP main camera with f/1.6 OIS, 12MP f/2.2 aperture AF camera for video and an 8MP telephoto camera with f/2.4 aperture. On the other hand, the standard Honor 20 offers a 40MP camera with f/1.8 aperture, 8MP f/2.4 aperture ultra-wide-angle lens, and an 8MP telephoto camera with f/2.4 aperture.
Both the devices feature a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and run on Android 10 with Magic UI 3.0.1 on top. Considering the storage, the V30 comes in 6GB/8GB RAM with 128GB storage while the V30 Pro has 8GB RAM with 128GB / 256GB storage options.
Both V30 phones support the ultrafast 40W Honor SuperCharge, but the V30 Pro also has 27W Super Wireless Charge. There is also a difference in the battery capacity – the V30 has 4200mAh battery in comparison with the Pro’s 4100mAh battery.
Price and Availability:
The Honor V30 and Honor V30 Pro come in Blue, White, Orange, and Light Blue colors. The following are the pricing of different variants:

Honor V30 Pro 5G

The Honor V30 will be available to purchase from Dec 5 while the V30 Pro from Dec 12. The sale is limited to the China region. No word on a Huawei V30 series release outside China. If it happens, these will be announced as Honor View 30 and Honor View 30 Pro.
