Huawei Android Pie EMUI OTA update rolling out for P20, P20 Pro, Mate 10, Mate 10 Pro, Honor 10, Honor V10 and Honor Play in China

Huawei Android 9.0 Pie EMUI 9.0 Update release date

Its a couple of months since Huawei announced Android Pie based EMUI 9.0 ROM for its devices at IFA 2018. Since then, the company rolled out a beta update of this latest Android 9.0 Pie update to a range of Huawei and Honor smartphones. Initially, the update was made available to the Chinese market and soon after it released to various other global markets including India. Today, the company has started rolling out a stable version of Android Pie EMUI 9.0 to at least 7 devices in China. The update brings the version to EMUI

Huawei P20, P20 Pro, Mate 10, Mate 10 Pro, Honor 10, Honor V10 and Honor Play are the first company handsets to get the taste of stable Pie EMUI 9.0 OS. All these devices where first to get selected for the Android Pie Beta program and they were also given high priority for the stable updates. For time being, the update is limited to only a few users of each model, while the full rollout is expected by the end of next week.

With the stable rollout in China, it is highly possible that Huawei might also start rolling out the same for the global variants starting from early December 2018. The EMUI 9.0 Android 9.0 Pie firmware update in China is available via OTA and it pops-up the version to EMUI If you own any of the above eligible devices, go to Settings > About phone > System updates to check for the latest software update manually. Since the update is available via OTA, users need to wait a few days or even a week to appear on each and every device notification bar.
