Huawei has a great reputation in the smartphone industry when considered the software updates. Following the trend, the company has revealed a list of seven devices which will be updated to EMUI 8.0 starting from today i.e., June 30. The EMUI 8.0 is company’s latest EMUI skin based on Android 8.0 Oreo.

A total of six phones from 2016 namely Honor 8, Honor V8, Honor Note 8, Honor 6X, Huawei P9 flagship and the bigger P9 Plus and the Mate 8 from November 2015 will get the EMUI 8.0 Android 8.0 Oreo update starting from today. Honor EMUI 8.0 Android 8.0 Oreo update

According to the reports, the EMUI 8.0 Android Oreo update will land on the Huawei P9, P9 Plus, and Huawei Mate 8 first before heading to the Honor 8, Honor Note 8, Honor V8, and the Honor Play 6X. This is interesting to see that most of the smartphone OEMs ends Android support for devices older than two years. But Huawei shows a great respect to its older devices and thereby rolling out latest update with an aim to further improve the performance of older devices.

It will be a great relief for the Huawei P9 users as the device apparently ruled out for the Oreo update earlier this week. Considering the downside, Huawei not yet confirmed whether the update will be limited to China or pushed to all users across the global. It is confirmed that only 20,000 users will be allowed to update manually via a mobile app will be the beta testers. If no bugs found, the rest of the users will start receiving stable OTA update.

EMUI 8.0 comes with intelligent CPU management for performance optimization and improved battery life. The update will also add real-time scene and object recognition along with AI-enabled translations and Smart Tips.
