Huawei releases EMUI 9.1 update beta (OTA) for Nova 3, Nova 2s, and Nova 3i

Huawei recently announced the list of smartphones eligible to get the EMUI 9.1 update in the coming days. It looks like this Chinese smartphone vendor doesn’t want to waste any time as it already started rolling out EMUI 9.1 beta update to a range of its smartphones, including those from sub-brand Honor.

EMUI 9.1 for Huawei Mate 20 Pro Mate 20 X

Huawei Nova 3, Nova 2s, and Nova 3i are the three new devices getting the taste of EMUI 9.1 beta update. Alongside, the company is also rolling out the same beta update to other smartphones including the Huawei Mate 20 Lite, P10, P10 Plus, Honor 10, Honor 9, Honor V10, Honor V9, Honor 8X, and Honor Play. The update is rolling out via OTA and is exclusively available for Chinese devices. It is expected that the global variants will be soon made eligible for the update.

The following are the models being upgraded to EMUI 9.1 beta firmware:

  • Nova 3 PAR-AL00
  • Nova 3 PAR-TL00
  • Nova 2s HWI-AL00
  • Nova 2s HWI-TL00
  • Nova 3i INE-AL00
  • Nova 3i INE-TL00

According to HuaweiCentral, it is quite mandatory that the above models run on latest EMUI version, or else you won’t receive the software update.

  • Nova 3 – 9.0.0.184 → 9.1.0.110
  • Nova 2s – 9.0.1.160 → 9.1.0.180
  • Nova 3i – 9.0.1.163 → 9.1.0.180

Just so you know, these updates are internal testing versions and thus availability is limited to a few units of each device for those using Chinese variants. If your device doesn’t select for the beta program, there is no need to worry as Huawei and its sub-brand Honor will soon release the EMUI 9.1 stable update.
