Huawei P10, P10 Plus and P10 Lite are the latest Huawei’s smartphone to run on Android 7.0 Nougat with EMUI 5.1 on top. All the three devices were announced at the MWC 2017 held in Barcelona, Spain. Before this, Huawei Mate 9 was the only smartphone to ship with Android Nougat-based EMUI 5.0. Most of the Huawei/Honor smartphones users might be wondering whether its device will be upgraded to Android 7.0 Nougat firmware or not? Eligible Huawei phones to get EMUI 5.0 Android Nougat update – Huawei’s Nougat Release Date
Huawei has divided update rollout into two segments. In the first segment, all the flagship smartphones namely Mate 8, Huawei P9, Huawei P9 Plus, Huawei P9 Lite, Huawei Nova, and Huawei Nova Plus will be receiving the Nougat update. The timeframe for these devices is set to first Quarter of 2017. In the second round, the same update will be released for Honor 6X, Honor Note 8, Huawei Nova, and Huawei G9 Plus. These devices are expected to get the update through the course of this year.

The first mid-ranger to get the update is the Huawei Nova smartphone in March, followed by the Honor Note 8 and Huawei G9 Plus in April, according to the leaked table on Weibo. The Honor 6X and the MediaPad M3 tablet will receive the Android Nougat-based EUI 5.0 update sometime in May. The above list of devices will not only be the only phones to be upgraded to Android 7.0 Nougat firmware. We can expect Huawei adding names of more devices in the coming days.
This is a pretty good one releasing first to the recent flagship devices followed by other mid-range smartphones. All the above listed devices will first get the beta update, followed by the general rollout. As Nougat is a major upgrade, we can surely expect great improvements and several new features addition over the previous version.
