Huawei Mate 20 Pro had a wonderful beginning of this year so far. Recently, the device featured at the top of DxOMark’s camera rankings, today Huawei released a new EMUI update to the Huawei Mate 20 Pro. Launch in new colors and optimizing face unlock are another cool things happen to the device in a span of one month. The latest firmware update 9.0.0.183 (C636E10R3P2) brings more goodies to the device including the Super Macro Mode to the Camera and the January 2019 security patches.
Super Macro Mode is a special camera feature that it already present on Huawei Mate 20 Pro since its official launch, but was not available as an actual “mode”. To use this feature, one has to zoom the screen to 0.6X and the Camera AI will automatically launch Super Macro Mode. But, after upgrading to EMUI 9.0.0.183 firmware, users can enjoy the mode by tapping “More” in the camera app. Compared to the normal camera mode, close-up shooting can capture more details and even give us small surprises that are not easily noticeable by the eyes.

In addition, the update also brings the latest security patches, improved smoothness of the gesture navigation system, and an improved call experience. Huawei Mate 20 Pro users also reports that the update also fixes an issue with Google Pay, and CTS Profile Match failure in a previous update.
The EMUI 9.0.0.183 update is rolling out via OTA and is about 346MB in size. As the update is released in a phase-wise manner, it might take couple of days or even more to appear on each and every Huawei Mate 20 Pro.
