Huawei Mate 30 and Mate 30 5G announced globally – Price, Specifications

Huawei Mate 30 and Mate 30 5G officially announced at a global event in Munich, Germany on Thursday. Moreover, the global Huawei event also witnessed the launch of Huawei Mate 30 Pro, Huawei Mate 30 Pro 5G, Huawei Mate 30 RS Porsche Design, and Huawei Watch GT 2. All the Huawei Mate 30 series smartphones are powered by Kirin 990 SoC and sports 40-megapixels Supersensing Wide camera.

Huawei Mate 30 / Mate 30 5G – Specifications

Huawei Mate 30 and Mate 30 5G most probably comes with the same specifications. The only difference which varies both the devices is the Mate 30 powered by Kirin 990 SoC while the Mate 30 5G comes with Kirin 990 5G chipset.

In terms of display, the Huawei Mate 30 flaunts a 6.53-inch OLED FullView display with a screen resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels. It features an in-display fingerprint sensor and comes with 3D scanning hardware. The device runs on Android 10-based EMUI 10 without Google apps installed. Instead, it comes with Huawei’s AppGallery where users have to use their Huawei ID to access the ecosystem. In place of Google Drive and Google Photos, Huawei offers Huawei Mobile Cloud to backup photos/data while the Huawei Video and a web browser replace Google Chrome.

Coming to the camera department, the Mate 30 still gets the 40-megapixel 1/1.7-inch sensor along with an F1.8 lens along with the 8-megapixel telephoto camera with the ability to zoom 3x optically and 5x using hybrid tech. The third camera has a 16-megapixel ultra-wide sensor whereas the selfie camera gets a 24-megapixel sensor.

The flagship comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB internal storage with an option to expand further using the NM card. It has hybrid dual-SIM support and IP53 certified for water-resistant.

The Mate 30 measures 160.8 x 76.1 x 8.4mm and weighs 196g. The connectivity options includes Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz and 5GHz) (wave2), Bluetooth 5.1 LE, GPS (L1 + L5 dual band), NFC, USB 3.1  Type-C (GEN1). It has a smaller 4200mAh battery compared to Mate 30 Pro 4500mAh, but it retains the 40W SuperCharge, 27W Wireless Huawei SuperCharge technology.

Price and Availability:

The HUAWEI Mate 30 comes in Emerald Green, Space Silver, Cosmic Purple, and Black, and the Mate 30 5G also comes in Forest Green and Orange are available in vegan leather. These start at 799 Euros (US$ 882 / Rs. 62,980 approx.).
