Huawei, the Chinese smartphone giant has started rolling out Android 8.0 Oreo update for the long awaited Huawei Mate SE. To remind you, the Huawei Mate SE is a US-branded version of the Honor 7X. There is not much difference among these two models, but the only difference is a Huawei logo on the bottom on the screen instead of the Honor logo.
The Huawei Mate SE Android 8.0 Oreo update is rolling out via OTA and brings build number BND-L34 18.104.22.1680. The update is about 2.4GB in size. Users can manually check for OTA update from the path Settings > About > System Update > Update.
As of now, the update is rolling out for users in Canada, although it’s reasonable to expect more Honor 7X variant receiving Oreo update from different regions including North America and Europe.
Coming to changelog, the Oreo update brings more or less features to that of Honor 7X Oreo update. It comes with a new floating navigation dock, an updated settings menu, a recycle bin in your gallery, “seamless LinkedIn integration” (because why not), the ability to link two Bluetooth devices up, and face unlock.
