Huawei is not applying breaks to its smartphone business growth in-spite of the US trade ban as the company launches the latest Huawei Nova 6 series smartphones in China. These include the Huawei Nova 6 and Nova 6 5G models. In addition to this, the Chinese telecom tech also announces the Huawei Nova 6 SE in the mid-range price segment.
The Huawei Nova 6 and Nova 6 5G share common specifications and features, except the Balong 5000 5G modem that is exclusive for the Huawei Nova 6 5G model. A 6.57-inch FHD+ display, Kirin 990 SoC (Balong 5000 modem for 5G version), 40MP triple rear cameras, and up to 4200mAh battery are the top highlights of the Huawei Nova 6, Nova 6 5G devices.
Huawei Nova 6, Nova 6 5G Specifications
The Huawei Nova 6 and Nova 6 5G features a 6.57-inch Full HD+ (1080 x 2400 pixels) LTPS display with a 20:9 aspect ratio. These are powered by an octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 990 SoC coupled with Mali-G76 GPU and 8GB of RAM. Importantly, the 5G model has the Balong 5000 5G modem on the distinct part.
Both the smartphones run on Android 10 with the company’s own EMUI 10 skin on top. For photography, the Nova 6 and Nova 6 Pro offers the triple rear camera setup: 40MP RYYB camera with f/1.8 aperture, 8MP f/2.4 aperture 120° ultra-wide-angle lens, 8MP telephoto camera with f/2.4 aperture AF OIS, 3x optical zoom.
Moreover, the smartphones feature dual cameras on the front with a sensor like 32-megapixels with f/2.0 aperture and an 8-megapixels with f/2.2 aperture. It also comes with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
The connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.1, GPS/A-GPS, NFC, and USB Type-C. The Huawei Nova 6 5G also includes 5G support. A 4100mAh battery provides juice to the Nova 6, while the 5G model has a 4200mAh battery.
Price and Availability:
The HUAWEI Nova 6 and Nova 6 5G comes in four color variants – the Black, Blue, Violet, and Red. Coming to the pricing, the 4G LTE version with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage costs 3199 Yuan (US$454), the 5G version with 8GB RAM + 128GB storage costs 3799 Yuan (US$539), and the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage for 4199 Yuan (US$596). The devices are already up for pre-order in China while the shipping starts from December 12th.
