Since the official debut of EMUI 10 at Huawei’s Developer conference last year, most of the Huawei and Honor users have been eager to know whether their device supports the update or not. Huawei P Smart+ 2018 and Nova 3i are also among those waiting for the update.
But, the hopes were finally ruined as the company announced that the Huawei P Smart+ 2018 and Huawei Nova 3i will not get the Android 10-based EMUI 10 update. Huawei says “We regret to inform you that EMUI 10.0 / Android 10 will not be available for your device due to hardware limitations as it requires higher hardware specifications for optimal performance”.
However, these devices were promised to get the monthly security updates. Regarding the same, Huawei now has started rolling out the February Security update to Huawei P Smart+ 2018 and Huawei Nova 3i.
The latest update brings the version 184.108.40.2060(C636E1R1P1) and is about 122MB in size. Apart from February security patch integrity, there are not many changes to the update.
The EMUI 220.127.116.110 update for Nova 3i is rolling out via OTA in a phase-wise manner. Users will soon see the notification on their screen asking to download the update package. If you still don’t receive the update notification, go to System > Software Update > Check for updates, to check for the update manually.
