Huawei just announced its latest smartphone in the brand new P40 series. The device is dubbed as Huawei P40 Lite, the rebranded version of the Huawei Nova 6 SE smartphone that was announced in China in December last year. Currently, the device is launched in Europe while expected to reach other markets in the coming weeks. Huawei also promised to announce the Huawei P40 flagship phones at a special event in Paris, France on Match 26. The P40 lineup devices include the Huawei P40, P40 Pro, and P40 Premium Edition.
Huawei P40 Lite – Specifications
The Huawei P40 Lite comes with an IPS LCD display with a punch-hole at its top-left corner. The 6.4-inch display offers a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2310 pixels. Moreover, it is just 8.7mm thick and offers a screen-to-body ratio of 90.6 percent.
Under the hood runs a 7nm Kirin 810 chipset, paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. There is also an option for memory expansion up to 256GB with Huawei NM memory card. Similar to the recently launched Honor 9X Pro, Honor View 30, and Huawei Mate Xs, the Huawei P40 Lite also runs on Android 10-based EMUI 10 with Huawei Mobile Services.
The Huawei P40 Lite has a square camera setup on the back. This includes quad rear cameras including a 48MP main sensor with a Sony IMX586 sensor, f/1.8 aperture, 8MP Ultra-wide Angle with f/2.4 aperture, 2MP macro camera, and 2MP depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. There is also a 16MP front-facing camera with a f/2.0 aperture.
The device features a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and has hybrid dual SIM support. The connectivity options include 4G, Bluetooth, GPS, and NFC, while a USB Type-C port is there for charging and file transfer. The 4,200 mAh battery in the Huawei P40 Lite supports 40W charging through the USB-C port.

The HUAWEI P40 Lite comes in Black, Pink and Green colors, is priced at 299 Euros (US$ 326 / Rs. 23,390 approx.) and will go on sale starting from next month in Spain and select countries in Europe with pre-orders starting from March 2, and the pre-orders get free HUAWEI FreeBuds 3.
