Huawei Watch GT 2 with two-week battery life, Smart Sports Modes announced: Price, Details

Huawei at the Mate 30 series launch event also announced its latest smartwatch – the Huawei Watch GT 2. It runs on Huawei’s homegrown LiteOS, not Google’s Wear OS and comes in three different editions – the Sport Edition, Classic Edition, and Elite Edition. The Huawei Watch GT 2 comes in two sizes and offers a battery backup for up to two weeks.

Huawei Watch GT 2 – Specifications

As said above, the Huawei Watch GT 2 comes in two dials – a 42mm and 46mm dials. The 42mm dial smartwatch features a 1.2-inch OLED display with 390 x 390 pixels resolutions while the 46mm variant has a 1.39-inch OLED display with 454 x 454 pixels resolutions. Both the models are powered by the Huawei’s own Kirin A1 SoC and come with 5ATM water resistance. This means the watch is water-resistant up to 50 meters for 10 minutes of time.

The connectivity options included within the Watch GT 2 are Bluetooth 5.1, BLE / BR / EDR, and GPS. It also features several useful sensors like Accelerometer sensor, Gyroscope sensor, Geomagnetic sensor, Optical heart rate sensor, Ambient light sensor, Air pressure sensor, and capacitive sensor. It also comes with two hardware buttons on the right side – Power button and function button.

Coming to storage, the 42mm model offers 16MB RAM and 4GB storage while the 46mm bumps the RAM to 32MB. It supports both Android and iOS smartphones.

Moreover, the 42mm model also comes with a microphone and speaker. This will let you attend phone calls even the smartphone is 150 meters away from you. Both the models support up to 15 workout models and can now track your heart rate underwater. The Huawei Watch GT 2 comes with varied watch faces and can diagnose six types of sleep issues for enabling better rest.

At last but not least, the Watch GT 2 42mm model comes with 215mAh battery and 7 days of battery life compared to a 455mAh battery and 14 days of battery life of the 46mm model.

Price and Availability:

HUAWEI GT 2 46mm is priced at €249 (US$ 275 / Rs. 19,620 approx.) and the 42mm variant is priced at €229 (US$ 253 / Rs. 18,051 approx.). They will begin shipping in October 2019.
