Huawei Watch GT users reportedly receiving a new firmware update via OTA (over-the-air). The size of the update is about 1.23MB and brings the version 1.0.9.6. Huawei has completely abandoned the Wear OS for its smartwatches just similar to its smartphones which uses custom EMUI skin over stock Android. The Chinese telecom giant has developed its own wearable OS called Huawei wearable platform. However, this smartwatch OS and EMUI OS are both based on Android.
Huawei Watch GT is one of those Huawei wearables which gets regular software updates. Back in May, the company released the 1.0.8.34 update which bought the much-awaited always-on display feature. The update also included bug fixes for heart rate measurement.
Soon after in July, the Watch GT received the 1.0.9.2 update which enabled dual time zone display. The update also brings optimizations to HR and workout tracking.
