Huawei on Wednesday launched its latest budget smartphone in the ‘Y series’ dubbed as Huawei Y5 2017. The smartphone is now listed on Huawei’s official website. It comes in Gold, Pink, Blue, White and Gray colors options and there is no information regarding the price and availability of the device.
Coming to specifications, the Huawei Y5 2017 flaunts a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD display and has dual SIM support. Under the hood, there is a 1.4GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6737T processor coupled with Mali-T720 GPU and 2GB of RAM. There is 16GB of internal storage which can be further expandable with microSD card.
The Y5 2017 runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with EMUI 4.1 on top. It has 8-megapixels rear camera with dual LED flash and a 5-megapixels front facing camera that also has LED flash. In addition to power button, there is also a separate easy key on the left side of the phone that lets you assign actions such as launching apps for press, double press, and press-and-hold gesture.
Apart from 4G LTE connectivity, it also includes Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. It is powered by a 3000mAh battery which is well enough to provide backup for an entire day. It measures 143.8 x 72 x 8.35mm and weighs 150g.
