Most of the users might be wondering whether the Huawei Y9 2019 will receive further Android updates or not amid Google ban. However, the Chinese telecom giant managed to extend the Android license for 90-days thereby rolling out the Pie update to all the pending Huawei & Honor smartphones during this grace period.
Coming to Huawei Y9 (2019), the company started recruiting for EMUI 9 beta program back in March and promise to release the stable version by May-end. Unfortunately, the update was not released for the users.
But, today the wait for Android Pie update has been over. Huawei Y9 2019 reportedly receiving a stable version of Android 9 Pie-based EMUI 9.0. Currently, the update is rolling out to model number JKM-LX1, the users with JKM-LX2 and JKM-LX3 models have to wait a bit more.
The update size is about 3.19GB and is rolling out in a phase-wise manner. The Y9 2019 users can manually check for updates from Settings > System > System update > Check for updates. As the update size is larger, it is advisable to use Wi-Fi instead of mobile data.

The latest Android Pie update for Huawei Y9 2019 bumps the version EMUI 8.2.0.156 to EMUI 9.0.1.162. Being a mid-range, this could be the latest major Android update to Y9 2019. However, the company will be rolling out regular security patch updates.
The EMUI 9.0 update brings several features including new SmartCare AI learning, Password Vault, HiVision Visual Search, Digital Balance dashboard, GPU Turbo 2.0, Wireless universal screen projection through Miracast, Gaming Mode, Multi-task-switching between each app, HuaweiShare, and more. Moreover, the smartphone will also get Android Pie goodness including gesture-based navigation, New Quick Settings UI design, Redesigned volume slider, Advanced Battery with AI Support and more.
