It’s just a week ago, Huawei announced its latest mid-range smartphone dubbed as the Huawei P Smart Z. Today, the company surprises its fans by launching another premium affordable smartphone, the Huawei Y9 Prime 2019. Both the devices have several common features as well as design, including the pop-up selfie camera, full-screen display, Kirin 710 Soc, and more. Only noticeable key differences between the devices are that the Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 has a triple rear camera setup while the recently launched Huawei P Smart Z sports a dual rear cameras.
Huawei Y9 Prime 2019: Specifications
The Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 flaunts a 6.5-inch Full HD+ 19:5:9 2.5D curved glass display with a screen resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels. It is powered by an octa-core Kirin 710 12nm processor coupled with ARM Mali-G51 MP4 GPU and 4GB of RAM. While the Huawei P Smart Z was available only in 4GB RAM + 64GB variant, the Y9 Prime 2019 gets an additional variant with 4GB RAM + 128GB storage.
For photography, there is a 16MP pop-up selfie camera accompanied with a triple rear camera setup: a 16-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel secondary ultra-wide sensor and, a third 2-megapixel depth sensor.
The Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 runs on Android 9 Pie-based EMUI 9.0 OS and features dual SIM (nano + nano + MicroSD) support. There is also a fingerprint sensor on the rear panel.

On the connectivity front, it offers Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz / 5GHz), Bluetooth 5, GPS + GLONASS. On the back, there is a 4000mAh battery with fast charging technology.
Price and Availability:
The Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 comes in Midnight Black, Emerald Green, and Sapphire Blue colors. The device is already available for pre-order in the Middle East for 969 Saudi Riyal (US$ 260 / Rs. 18,170 approx.) for the 128GB version, with a shipping date of May 23rd.
