Latest Honor 9X, 9X Pro update brings ARK Compiler support and optimizes camera

Honor announced its latest mid-range smartphones – the Honor 9X and Honor 9X Pro last month in China. These are the successor of Honor 8X which already created huge revenue for the company. Both the devices ships with Android 9 Pie-based EMUI 9.1 OS. Today, the company has started rolling out a new EMUI 9.1 software update for Honor 9X as well as Honor 9X Pro.

The latest update for Honor 9X and 9X Pro brings the build number EMUI 9.1.1.126 and EMUI 9.1.1.128 respectively. The update brings the ARK Complier for system efficiency, improves camera for better photography, and enhances display settings for the better gaming experience. Moreover, the update also integrates the latest security patch i.e. the August 2019 Security for both the smartphones. The update is about 2.94GB in size.

The new EMUI 9.1 update is exclusively for the Chinese market as the Honor 9X and 9X Pro are currently launched in China only. Honor may soon bring the smartphones to other global markets including India in the coming days.

As usual, the new updates for Honor 9X and 9X Pro are pushed via OTA in a phase-wise manner. So, if you haven’t received the update yet, keep patience as firmware updates are pushed out in batches. You will automatically see the update notification on your screen anytime.

Users can also manually check for updates through Settings > About Phone > System Updates > Check for updates. If available, make sure to download using the Wi-Fi as the software size is bigger and eats away your data. Alternatively, users can also take the help of HiCare app to request the latest firmware update.
