Huawei has finally announced the EMUI 10 at its Annual Developer Conference 2019 event last week. The company also made official the list of Huawei and Honor phones confirmed to get the EMUI 10 update at the same launch event. Although the list of eligible smartphones was announced, there were no details when the update will be made available. Today, a report has been surfaced which reveals the Magic UI 3.0 (no more than a rebranded EMUI for Honor devices) update timeline for four of its devices.
According to a report from MyDrivers, the Honor 20, Honor 20 Pro, Honor View 20, and Honor Magic 2 will start receiving the Magic UI 3.0 beta update in late September 2019. It will be a beta rollout exclusive for the Chinese market. Alongside these Honor devices, Huawei will also release the EMUI 10 beta update for Huawei Mate 20, Huawei Mate 20 Pro, Huawei Mate 20 X, and Huawei Mate 20 RS Porsche Design in late September 2019.
The Huawei P30 and Huawei P30 Pro will be the first two devices to get the initial beta, scheduled for September 8. Moreover, the Huawei Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro will be the company’s first smartphones to ship with EMUI 10 out-of-the-box.
Coming to the changelog, the EMUI 10 update brings a bunch of new features and performance improvements. Dark Mode is one of the biggest highlights of the EMUI 10. Huawei claims that the new Dark Mode will make any app dark even if has not been updated by the developer. While this sounds great, there will be certain apps that might not look good with the forced dark mode.
Other changes include a simplification of the Settings app, a few changes to the Camera UI, a new swipe up gesture to access the app drawer, and other security improvements. You can also check the complete list of EMUI 10 Features here.
