Software Update: Honor Play [EMUI 9.0.0.190] and View 20 [EMUI 9.1.0.150] gets May Security Patch

As the Huawei received only 90-days Android license amid US government ban, the company along with Google delivering as much as security updates to their devices. Honor Play and Honor View 20 are the latest in the list to get the May 2019 security patch update.

The latest software update for Honor Play brings the version EMUI 9.0.0.190 and is about 501MB in size. On the other hand, the Honor View 20 gets the version EMUI 9.1.0.150(C675E9R1P4) and is about 139MB in size. We have confirmed that the update is rolling out in India and expands to other global regions. The update is released via OTA and will be covered each and every handset across the globe tentatively by 25 June 2019.

As the update is pushed via OTA, Honor Play and Honor View 20 users can manually check for it from the path Settings > System > Software update > Check for Updates. If still not available, try to request it via HiCare app. To do this, go to Hicare app > Tap on Update > Click on the Checkbox and hit Apply. Now, again go to Settings and check the update manually.
