Un grand Merci pour ces explications. xda est tellement avare en explications : “c’est simple, flashez, profitez !”
Bro, which version of GApps did you downloaded? Open GApps for Lineage OS or other?
If it’s that one, on the download page for GApps, what did you choose?
Platform: ARM
Android: 7.1
Variant: Stock
Or doesn’t matter which one you choose? Cuz when i clicked to downalod the Open GApps for Lineage OS, these options were already checked:
Platform: ARM
Adnroid: 6.0
Variant: stock.
hi, i choose “gapps-arm64-7.1-pico” (the name of file i download), for lineage : http://opengapps.org/ for my honor 5X, then i install the other apps with playstore.
i just use this article to flash “xenonHD” rom, cause XDA explains are really short : “flash and enjoy !”…
i really have a new phone with this rom : no more lag, really really fast, fore example type a “hello” on messenger take 20 sec (launch messenger… wait….. click friend…… wait…. click again on friend… ok… click text window……. wait for keyboard……. H E L L O ….. “hello” ! )
now : click click click “hello !” 🙂
Bro, sorry if i am bothering you but i really need to make it this right first time. i pretty much know how the flashing ROM goes, but your comment triggered me and i want the same as you, so here is my questions:
1. When you go on this site: https://huaweiadvices.com/download-gapps-for-lineage-os/
which GApps you are downloading?
– Open Gapps for Lineage OS
– Slim GApps for Lineage OS ROMs
– Dynamic Gapps/ Bank GApps for Lineage OS 14.1 (mini or full?)
– Download A-GApps for Lineage OS
2. When you click on the correct link as yours it takes you to the downloaded page where i can see many versions, Which one do i download?
For example if i go to the download page of Open GApps for Lineage OS, what should i choose? Should I choose for Platform: ARM, Android: 7.1 and Variant: Stock? This is where i confuse, which one i should choose, i mean the correct one.
3. So, you are saying that this ROM Lineage OS (Nougat 7.1.1) reborn your Honor 5X? It works better in any way?
I thank you for your help in advance. I promise these are my last questions I ask, lol 🙂
No problem 🙂 sorry for my english
click “open gaps for lineage os”
you will get this page : http://opengapps.org/
choose “arm64” “android 7.1” and the variant that you want (i choose “pico” and install others apps on the playstore).
Just “Arm64” and “7.1” are important to select.
i dont choose this rom of this article, but XenonHD
juste google “XDA xenonHD honor 5x”
you will get this page https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-5x/development/rom-xenonhd-honor-5x-t3551327
just download rom file in this xda page (if you want xenonHd rom, but lineage os rom is possibly good too (i don’t test it, i can’t tell you if it’s better)
for my testing on xenonHD rom, i really have a new phone with this rom, i have one hundred apps, all of them work perfectly (some bug of course, but it’s with all phones)
i have all push notifications i want (and no what i disable of course), before, Emui honor kill them all, synchronisation with dropbox don’t work, i had obligation to start the app and stay screen on, now, dropbox work perfect in background, and it’s just an example, really, all is perfect and fast, and smooth.
it’s rooted, so you can install “greenify”, to force sleep apps you don’t want to stay awake in background (games, facebooks sync all time), eating ram and battery….
this is what i do :
i get code to unlock bootloader
i save all apps and data with EMUI on sd card extern (settings, saves…), SMS, etc.
i unlock bootloader
i flash TWRP
i flash superuser to root
always on EMUI, i restore all apps (unlock bootloader will delete all apps and data)
with root, i save all again, but this time with Titanium Backup.
you can’t save on sd card extern with TB, so save on intern, then cut past the folder titanium backup in your computer.
then I reboot in TWRP, i made a backup (save on sd card extern) (in case seomtehing go wrong, you can use this to restore EMUI)
i wipe phone (step 3. Now you need to perform hard reset of your device. Tap on the wipe button and select Advanced Wipe. Then select all Dalvik cache, System, Data and Cache options. Confirm the flash.)
then step 4, i flash XenonHD rom(or lineage rom if you want), then 5, flash gapps, reboot, wait a long reboot (juste once time) and finally, i enjoyed it 🙂
then you can cut past folder of TWRP backup (6 Go for me) on your computer, to free space on your card extern (keep it in case go wrong, to restore with twrp)
ask if you have questions
bye
