All the Huawei phones run on its own custom skin called “EMUI” on top of Android. The EMUI 9.1 is the latest skin released by the company. Back in April, the company revealed a total of 49 Huawei and Honor phones eligible to get the EMUI 9.1 update. As per promise, the Chinese telecom tech has started rolling out the update. The Huawei Mate 20 series smartphones have already received the EMUI 9.1 firmware update in China and now the company announced the roadmap for the Asia Pacific market.
According to HuaweiCentral, the Huawei Mate 20 series smartphones will get the EMUI 9.1 update starting June 27 in the Asia Pacific region. These include the devices namely the Huawei Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro, Mate 20 X, and Mate 20 RS Porsche Design.
As the company already rolled out the EMUI 9.1 update for China region, it time for global users to taste the EMUI’s latest version. Huawei will also announce the update timeline for European and other markets very soon.

The new EMUI 9.1 provides an innovative experience and system speed enhancements. It brings the third iteration of GPU Turbo technology. As per the company, GPU Turbo 3.0 cuts down on SoC power consumption by 10% and optimizes “the underlying system performance to provide a continuous gaming experience.” Furthermore, the number of Android games to utilize this latest GPU Turbo feature has been increased from 6 to 25.
