Honor Play EMUI 9.1 update rolling out with GPU Turbo 3.0

Honor already confirmed EMUI 9.1 update for a range of its devices. Today, the company has started rolling out the update to one of these devices. Currently, the Honor Play has started receiving the latest EMUI 9.1 software update. To remind you, the EMUI 9.1 is based on Android 9 Pie and is a major software upgrade over the EMUI 9.0.

The latest update for Honor Play brings the version 9.1.0.312 and is rolling out globally. These means more and more countries will be made eligible for the update in the coming days. However, the EMUI version and update size may vary depending on the markets and models.

If you’re an Honor Play user and wanted to check the update manually, then go to Settings > System > Software update > Check for updates. Do remember that as the update is pushed in a phase-manner, it might take a few days to appear on each and every device. Alternatively, users can also take the help of HiCare app to request the update.

Highlights of Magic UI 2.1/EMUI 9.1 include the newest update to GPU Turbo 3.0, which now covers a total of 25 games such as Fortnite, Real Racing 3, PES 2019, Fifa Mobile, Minecraft, and others. The GPU Turbo 3.0 also cuts down the power consumption on the device during gameplay up to 10% without any compromise in the graphics performance. This allows users to have a longer period of gameplay. This technology was limited to the flagship smartphones only but slowly have been rolled out to mid-range and budget devices too.

Another highlight of the EMUI 9.1 update is the EROFS (Extendable Read-Only File System). This will help to increase the read speed by 20% and up to 200% while also saving more than 2GB of system storage. The new file system will also ensure a higher response rate when it comes to reading files such as documents, music or videos. It will also help while launching a large app including a game; the startup speed will be faster and takes less time.
